Originally, this song started out as a placeholder in a live set me and my friend Jamie were doing for a uni assignment last year. I made the main concept in about 3 hours the night before presenting a rough version of the set to the class. I had another song I planned to use but we both ended up liking this one alot more so we kept it and replaced the other with a collab instead. Alot of people seemed to love our set and a few people kept asking me to release this track in particular, so that's why I decided to put it on the album.
Technically, this is the first track of the album I worked on (early July 2016), but I didn't intend of making it part of an album until much later.
The main attraction in this song, at least for me, is that distorted vocal. All the vocals come from a free MusicRadar Female Vocal sample pack. It has 9 different samples for the line "you are the one", which I use 2 of. The main distorted hook is just the 'one' from one of those samples with autotune, tons of compression, distortion, and lots of reverb. The more 'normal' vocals you hear are another one of those samples.
